Guitarate is an idea I stole from my elementary music teacher wife, who teaches a unit called "Recorder Karate" where the kids get lil' colored string "belts" every time they advance in their plastic recorder skills. Organizing my guitar curriculum this way helps me out when I get stuck thinking, "What the heck am I going to teach my students today?" It's basically my own personal Rex Kwon Do.
